Silence, The Enemy of Healing

Alarmingly, there is a growing trend among people, groups, and even organizations to silence others who may disagree with them.  In some cases, this behavior is used in an attempt to cover up abuse or misconduct. Oftentimes, these tactics are employed in such subtle ways that those who experience their effects are rendered powerless in the moment. In this episode, Jeff and Rochelle discuss some of the methods in which people are silenced, why they are silenced, and what to do about it. Listen in, as talking about these issues is one of the ways healing can occur. Silence is NEVER the preferable option, even though others will pressure you to think it is.

The Year of Simplicity

With the arrival of each new year there is an almost unhesitating acceptance of the reality that our world will continue to grow more complicated. New technologies, discoveries, and much more content than you and I could ever consume leave us feeling overwhelmed with the growing complexity of our world.  In too many cases, the Church has surrendered to this unfortunate tendency. But what if Jesus is calling His Bride to something different in 2025?  In this episode, Jeff and Rochelle discuss what it looks like for God’s people to pursue a life of simplicity.  Jesus didn’t promise to build His MACHINE. Start Talking: Talk To Your Kids About Politics

We’ve all heard it!  Especially during this time of year.  “People need to stop being so political!”  What if we as parents need to start being MORE political?  In this episode, Jeff and Rochelle make the biblical case for why every parent needs to talk to their kids about politics.  As pleasant as it sounds, you will not find the case for an apolitical stance in Scripture.  If we want to equip our kids to think deeply about important issues impacting their life, we will help them to cultivate a biblical worldview toward politics.  Take a listen!

Start Talking: Talk About Your Faith

It’s time for parents to start talking!  In this episode, Jeff and Rochelle discuss the implications of the staggering statistic that 43% of parents NEVER talk to their kids about their faith.  But all is not lost, because parents can reverse this trend by taking some things seriously.  Jeff and Rochelle identify key components that must be present between parent and child if the faith of one generation is to be passed on to the next.  This cannot be ignored.  Silence is not the answer!

What We’ve Learned from Being Homeless

Some lessons become strikingly clear when you are placed in a position for which you have no other option other than to experience them in tangible ways.  These lessons certainly fall into that category!  In this episode, Jeff and Rochelle discuss what they have learned from experiencing homelessness.  While they still have a roof over their head, Jeff and Rochelle discuss their experience without one church to call their home.  Listen in, as every person who cares about the local church needs to look through the lens of a visitor.
